Gerard Vernose, MD

About

Born at Saint Agnes Hospital in South Philadelphia—just steps from his current office on South Broad Street—Dr. Vernose has dedicated his career to serving the community that raised him. He completed his education entirely in Philadelphia, attending Bishop Neumann High School before earning his undergraduate degree at Temple University. He then graduated with honors from Drexel University College of Medicine and pursued his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of Dr. James B. Snow.

Dr. Vernose established his otolaryngology practice in 1977 and has since cherished the opportunity to care for his neighbors, friends, and family in South Philadelphia. Deeply rooted in the community, he actively participates in local social life and runs the Vendemmia Foundation, a charitable organization providing scholarships to South Philadelphia grade school and high school students.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Vernose enjoys wine-making, cooking, cycling, and live music—especially jazz, blues, and rock & roll. He has a passion for dining out and traveling through Europe. He is also a dedicated teacher, passing on his decades of knowledge to the next generation of physicians.

Now a proud member of Align ENT + Allergy, Dr. Vernose is committed to advancing the group’s mission and looks forward to continuing his legacy of patient care and medical education.
